The Week Ahead: Fireworks, Audra McDonald Performs

Monday

Monday Night Movie: A documentary romp through history, mystery and meaning of the great Jewish standard, "Hava Nagila" will be shown at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons at 8 p.m. The film features interviews with Harry Belafonte, Leonard Nimoy, Connie Francis, Glen Campbell, Regina Spektor and more.

Tuesday

Movie: The documentary, "The Red Orchestra" will be shown at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons at 8 p.m. Director Stefan Roloff will join movie-goers to discuss his film.

Fully Committed: Comedian-actor Neal Feinberg stars in "Fully Committed," a one man show in which he plays 40 roles, written by Becky Mode and directed by Rob McCaskill, at Guild Hall in East Hampton at 8 p.m.

The Mystery of Irma Vep: "The Mystery of Irma Vep" opens Tuesday at Bay Street Theatre. The play is a satire of several theatrical and film genres, according to Bay Street, including Victorian melodrama and farce, and Alfred Hitchcock's 1940 film Rebecca. The curtain goes up at 8 p.m. The play continues through July 28 with Sunday evening performances at 7 p.m., Saturday matinees at 4 p.m., and Wednesday matinees at 2 p.m. 

Wednesday

Crossroads Music Showcase: Kerry Kearney, a slide guitar master, will perform at the Crossroads Music Showcase at Guild Hall at 8 p.m. Price: Prime Orchestra and Post-Show VIP Meet and Greet $40/$38 members; Reserved Seating $20/$18 members.

VOSS Foundation at Georgica: Sports Illustrated Supermodel Ariel Meredith hosts Voss Foundation at Georgica in Wainscott. A cocktail reception will be held from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., and dinner will be from 9 to 11 p.m., followed by the after-party. Price: $75.00 per person

Thursday

Kids Bake Challah: Chabad East Hampton invites all children, parents, and grandparents to join in the fun of Challah making on Thursdays from July 4 to Aug. 29. The baking starts at 4:30 p.m. Price: Free

Fireworks: "Stars Over Montauk," the chamber's annual fireworks display, is slated for the Fourth of July at dusk.

Friday 

Amagansett Fine Arts Festival: A festival of independent artists will be held at the American Legion in Amagansett, on July 4th weekend, starting Friday at 10 a.m. In addition to fine art paintings, drawings and prints will be sculpture and non-functional crafts. Price: Free admission

Rabbi Adam Mintz Speaks: Join Rabbi Adam Mintz at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons at 2:30 p.m. to discuss the topic: The Sin of Moses: Why is a Leader Held to a Higher Standard?

Shabbat Shaboom: Join Temple Adas Israel every Friday night in July and August at the windmill in Sag Harbor at 5 p.m. for a fun way to welcome in Shabbat, filled with songs, games, and challah and grape juice.

Live music with Sara Hartman: Made in Montauk presents live music with Sara Hartman from 5 to 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served and shoppers get a 10-percent discount. 

Opening Reception: An opening reception for "Human Touch: Figures and Lives" will be held at Birnam Wood Galleries in East Hampton, starting at 6 p.m.

SummerDocs: Presented by Hamptons International Film Festival as part of the SummerDocs series at Guild Hall, "GASLAND PART II," a follow-up to Josh Fox's 2011 Academy Award-nominated documentary, the film examines the method of extracting natural gas and oil known as hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking.” Alec Baldwin will moderate a Q&A with Josh Fox after the viewing, which starts at 8 p.m. Price: $22 Reserved Seating / $20 Members

Films at the Farm: Guild Hall's Films at the Farm are back, and "Jurassic Park" will be shown on the big screen outdoors at Mulford Farm, in partnership with the East Hampton Historical Society. Rain date: Monday Price: $5 Admission / Free to Ages 5 and under 

Saturday

Jewelry Tag Sale: A jewelry tag sale will be held at Neoteric Gallery in Amagansett, starting at 9 a.m.

Library Fair: The Friends of the Monauk Library's 34th annual library fair is set for Saturday on the Montauk Green, starting at 10 a.m. Not only will you find books, but raffles, auctions, plants, jewelry, a children's section, white elephants, baked goods, a 50/50 raffle, refreshments and more. New this year is a corner featuring pet items.

Rabbi Alon Levkovitz Speaks: Join Rabbi Alon Levkovitz at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons on Saturday at 10 a.m. He will be the guest speaker during Shabbat Services.

Petting Zoo and Summer Reading Sign Up: Jason from Green Meadow Farms is helping the Amagansett Library launch its Summer Reading Program, "Dig In" with his hands-on petting zoo of frogs, bugs, ducks, chickens, bunnies, hedgehogs, and more. Register in advance. The petting zoo starts at 11 a.m.

St. Luke's Fair: The St. Luke’s Summer Family Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be music, carnival-style activities, games face painting, pony rides, raffles for kids’ toys, and great summer-fair foods: hot dogs, burgers, clams, cotton candy, pop corn, lemonade and much more. The mayor and pastor will in the dunking booth.

Trunk Show: Everything But Water Coolchange and Eberjey trunk show at Everything But Water East Hampton, from 12 to 5 p.m. 

Torah Study: Join Rabbi Adam Mintz for Torah Study at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons at 12:30 p.m.

Music by the Pond: From 3 to 6 p.m., Groundworks @ Hrens will host Mamalee & Friends on the lawn by the pond. The Outdoor Living and Garden Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for browsing and shopping. 

Live Out Loud: The 5th annual "Live Out Loud: Pride in the Hamptons" fundraiser to benefit Live Out Loud’s educational programs for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. The event will take place at 21 North Bay Lane in East Hampton at 6 p.m. Price:  $195 ($325 for the dinner afterwards). 

Audra McDonald in Concert: Broadway legend Audra McDonald will perform at Guild Hall in East Hampton, returning to the concert stage after four seasons on the hit ABC television series “Private Practice,” and after winning a record-tying fifth Tony Award for her performance in The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess.  Price: $200 Orchestra; Balcony $150/$145 members

Sunday

Guest Speaker: Join Sharon Liberman Mintz at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons at 10:30 a.m. for bagels, followed by the program at 11 a.m The topic: Esther Imagined: The Early History Illustrated Megillot.

Backyard BBQ: A backyard Kosher BBQ will be held at Chabad of East Hampton on July 6, Aug. 4, and Sept. 1, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. RSVP in advance. Price: $30 adults/ $15 children.
