SummerDocs: Gasland Part II hosted by Alec Baldwin

Presented by Hamptons International Film Festival. Following the screening, Josh Fox and environmental experts will participate in a Q&A moderated by Alec Baldwin. GASLAND PART II, the provocative follow-up to Josh Fox’s 2011 Academy Award-nominated documentary GASLAND, examines the method of extracting natural gas and oil known as hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,” one of the most controversial environmental issues facing our country today. With his trademark dark humor and tenacity, Fox’s newest effort demonstrates how the stakes have been raised, piercing the prevailing myths by arguing how and why fracked wells inevitably leak over time. The iconic image of running water from a faucet catching on fire is reprised, as Fox shows how methane, a powerful greenhouse gas, contaminates the water and air, hurts families, and endangers the earth’s climate.
