The Kardashians are Koming

Every summer, Hamptons residents, both year-round and seasonal, declare that this is the worst year ever. Couldn't get any worse

Well, it just did.

First, Kim Kardashian (and her husband Kanye West) penetrated the inner sanctum of fashion, which is to say the cover of this month's Vogue

Now, Kim's sisters—that would be Kourtney and Khloe—are invading another institution. In other words, they're coming to town The E! cable network, which airs "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" (not to metion “Eric & Jessie: Game On” and "Rich Kids of Beverly Hills") announced that it would be shooting a spinoff of the popular (if much hated) series this summer, called “Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons.”

The storyline, which rivals "War and Peace" for depth and complexity, involves the sisters relocating their NYC store Dash while opening a pop-up store somewhere in the Hamptons.

Not surprisingly, residents are not happy, and they're taking to Twitter. So far, expressions of shock and dismay have tended to be terse but eloquent. Jeff Chmielewski (@JeffCNYC), of Bridgehampton, tweeted: "Crap," while Lynne Lawrence (@lelnyc), of NYC and East Hampton weighed in with "NOOOOOOO!" and added the hashtags #stayaway #nokardashians. Book Hampton (@BookHamptons), with locations in Easthampton, Southampton, and Mattituck, plaintively tweeted, "At least our bookstore should be a Kardashian-free zone."

What's next? "Survivor: Amagansett"? "Duck Dynasty: The Maidstone Club"?

Tell us what you think about the sisters coming to town in the comments (as if we couldn't guess).
