Ross Students Learn Life-Saving Skills

Eighth graders learned how to do CPR and how to use the AED properly.

Ross School students are well prepared to jump into action if they encounter a medical emergency.

According to school officials, eighth graders earned their certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including how to use automatic extern defibrillators, from the American Heart Association recently.

Students leaned how to do chest compressions, manage an airway, and ventilation skills, on both adults and children. They also now know how to use an AED, which can be used to shock a patient in cardiac arrest.

The students also leaned how to react to choking emergencies.
