Horticultural Artisans to Speak at LongHouse Reserve on Summer Solstice

Jack Lenor
Larsen’s not-for-profit art garden, museum, and educational organization, Long
House Reserve, will host a special lecture with craftsmen Phid Lawless and Dan
Farrenkopf of Maine-based artisan pottery studio, Lunaform. At Friday
afternoon’s presentation titled “Concrete Potters of Maine: The Art & Craft
of Lunaform,” which fittingly takes place on the afternoon of the summer
solstice, visitors will enjoy a 40-minute slide show exploring the unique
processes and techniques that create Lunaform’s delicate yet durable garden
planters, followed by a Q & A with the artisans themselves. Following, more
than 14 Lunaform designs of varying colors, textures, and proportions will be
on display in LongHouse’s Gallery and available for purchase through the end of
the summer. A portion of the proceeds from all Lunaform sales will go to
benefit LongHouse Reserve.
