Jeffrey Friedman is the Executive Director of The Retreat, a nonprofit comprehensive domestic violence services organization located in eastern Suffolk County, NY.  Mr. Friedman is the facilitating leader of the East End Coalition Against Domestic Violence; a member of the Suffolk County Domestic Violence Task Force, and chair of the task force’s Research and Resource Subcommittee.

A non-profit leader with 17 years of experience in delivering human services to individuals across demographics/socioeconomics, Mr. Friedman has been dedicated to a model that addresses each person’s multiple needs together, in an integrated way, rather than as problems in isolation. His approach of direct service plus linkage to collaborative services has lifted thousands of individuals affected by a variety of challenging conditions including: domestic violence, sexual abuse, mental health disorders, substance abuse behaviors, HIV, and homelessness.

As Executive VP of the Long Island Association for AIDS Care—among the largest U.S. AIDS prevention service organizations—Mr. Friedman and his team last decade pioneered the delivery of confidential, mobile HIV testing, counseling, and education to previously unreachable disadvantaged individuals using an R.V., a trained staff, cutting edge technology endorsed by the Centers for Disease Control, and funding from the CDC, the NY State Department of Health, and SAMHSA.

Mr. Friedman earned a Masters degree in Administration for Nonprofits from State University of NY at Plattsburgh (May 1995) and a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Boston University (September 1992).
