The East Hampton School District includes three schools; John M. Marshall Elementary School, East Hampton Middle SchoolMore and East Hampton High School. District offices, including that of the superintendant and district clerk, are located in the newly renovated high school on Long Lane. The East Hampton School Board meets twice a month, on Tuesdays.
Clinton Academy

Built in 1784, Clinton Academy was one of the first academies chartered by the Board of Regents in New York State.More Reverend Samuel Buell of the East Hampton Presbyterian Church asked locals to donate money to construct the late-Georgian building. Co-educational, boys were schooled for careers, while girls were given classes in etiquette and spiritual reading. It was later a community center and a playhouse, held the town offices and even the local newspaper.

The East Hampton Historical Society oversees the historic site, which now hosts exhibitions and lectures. The Mimi Meehan Native Plant Garden, between the Clinton Academy and its neighbor, The East Hampton Star, is open year-round. The Garden Club of East Hampton tends to the small garden.

Wainscott School

Wainscott School is the smallest school in East Hampton. Kindergarten through third grade students from the WainscottMore area attend elementary school here and then move on to the East Hampton School District. Students are taught in a non-conventional classroom without grades.

The Wainscott School District dates to the 1700s, and until 2007 the school was located in the historic school building. A new school has since been built on the property. A three-member board of trustees is in charge of the school district.

After-school programs, including tutoring and homework assistance, summer camp and youth employment services are also available.
