The East Hampton Airport is a general aviation airport and does not have commercial airline service. The airport isMore about 600 acres, including the airport, hangers and businesses in Industrial Park, but a lot of it is open space over the largest aquifer on the South Fork. Owned by East Hampton Town, there are two runways for private airplanes and hangers that are rented. There are about 30,000 departures and arrivals a year, half of which occur during the busy summer season. Planes are charged a user fee to land and take off from the airport.

An airport manager, administrative assistant, and noise abatement officer are on staff to maintain the facilities. The main building was revamped in 1997, and there is a beautiful, light-filled lobby with chairs and tables, free Wi-Fi, vending machines, restrooms and three services; Sound Aircraft, which does charters and has a flight school, Enterpirse and Hertz.
