Through photographs, artifacts and models, the East Hampton Town Marine Museum documents the area's rich fishing and whaling history. Sitting on a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the museum's three floors take visitors through the history of East Hampton's maritime history and the industry's historical impact on the town residents. Children can explore a hands-on Discovery Room, and Shipwreck Hall displays artifacts from the Culloden Wreck of 1781. The Fulweiler Garden and outdoor exhibit features a jungle gym trawler for kids, a wooden boat collection, an Indian Field Gunning Shanty and the Gilm Smith Catboat.
