Educational Form

The East Hampton Healthcare Foundation will sponsor a free educational forum, "Rethink Aging It's Never Too Late to Take Care of Yourself." A free coffee and light breakfast buffet will precede the program from 8:30 to 9 a.m. 9:00 am. Seating is limited, advanced registration is requested. Free of charge.

Montauk Archaeology Festival

This free Archaeology Festival at Second House Museum, fun for the whole family, will feature demonstrations of prehistoric and native skills such as bow-and-arrow making, open-hearth cooking, flintknapping, hands-on pottery-making and traditional firing methods, and much more. Starts at 10 a.m.

CCOM's Annual Meeting

The Concerned Citizens of Montauk will hold its 43rd annual meeting at the Montauk Fire Department. This year’s forum topic will be coastal erosion with two renowned guest speakers, Orrin Pilkey, a James B. Duke Professor Emeritus of Earth and Ocean Sciences at Duke University, a marine and coastal geologist, specializing in the study of barrier islands and the impact of humans on our shorelines; and Dr. Stephen P. Leatherman, "Dr. Beach", Professor and Director of the Laboratory for Coastal Research at Florida International University. Meeting starts at 3 p.m.

Real Men Wear Pink Cocktail Party: A fundraising event to benefit Southampton Hospital Foundation to be distributed to the Southampton Hospital Breast Center, The Women's Cancer Coalition of Southampton, and Lucia's Angels. Pickle Canning Workshop

At the Hallockville Museum Jamesport on Saturday at 9 a.m., Mark Vosburgh, Certified Master Food Preserver, will instruct students on the proper methods from start to finish in the art of canning pickles and relishes using the water bath canning method. Limited space in class, call 631-298-5292 to reserve. $30 fee includes materials, hands-on instruction and a finished jar to take home.

On Friday at 4 p.m. head over to Sherwood House Vineyards in Jamesport for some live music and wine.

Cutchogue

Freshwater Turtles of the North Fork Presentation

The Downs Farm Preserve offers this special presentation on freshwater turtles on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Riverhead

Darkside Haunted House Opens

Wading River's Darkside Haunted House is ready to send shivers down the spines of anyone willing to step inside its 15-year-old zombie infested barn.
