Christians celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and the environment, on Oct, 4 by having their pets blessed. In East Hampton, there are many blessings to choose from, so gather up your dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, scaled friends and feathered friends and head to your local church over the next few weekends.

Here are three that we know of happening around East Hampton. If you know of others, leave a comment below.

• St. Luke's Episcopal Church is hosting Pet Sunday at 10 a.m.

• Old Whalers Church in Sag Harbor will hold a blessing at 1 p.m.

• Christ Episcopal Church in Sag Harbor at 10 a.m.
