Movie Screening, Puppet Show, Writing Workshop This Week in East Hampton

Here is what's coming up this week.

MONDAY

Movie Screening: Jewish Center of the Hamptons on Woods Lane in East Hampton presents "A Bottle in the Gaza Sea." This engrossing and hopeful drama starring Hiam Abbas is based on the award-winning novel by Valerie Zenatti.

TUESDAY

Writing Workshop:  The East Hampton Library hosts a free memoir workshop on Tuesday evenings conducted by author Kara Westermen.

WEDNESDAY

Puppet Show: Guild Hall in East Hampton presents Prokofiev’s "Peter and the Wolf" at 5 p.m. Admission is $16 for adults and $13 for kids. Before the show, at 4 p.m., Guild Hall will have a puppet-making workshop.  For ages 5 and up $10. Drop-off Movie: Drop kids off at the Amagansett for Library for "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days." Ages 8 to 12.

—  Warhol Film: Join Guild Hall for a free documentary screening at 8 p.m. According to the filmmakers, "In this 1973 film, Warhol discusses his views on art, money and society while visiting the Old Masters Room in the Brooklyn Museum. The film also follows Warhol to The Factory and the Cannes Festival. All of his major works are shown, as well as clips from many of his most important films. 

THURSDAY

Family Movie:  Amagansett Free Library screens the family friendly movie "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted." Snacks provided. The event is at 3:30 p.m. and is free.
