HarborFest Coming; Justice Candidate Throws a Beach Party

ROSH HASHANAH AND SHOFAR SOUNDING SERVICES

Rosh Hashanah begins on Wednesday evening, and among the services taking place around town there are several services taking place at Chabad of East Hampton, beginning with lighting of the candles on Wednesday, just before 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday begin with a morning menu at 9 a.m., followed by Torah reading, a sermon from the rabbi, and shofar sounding at 11:45 a.m., and Musaf at 12:30 p.m. For more details, click the above link. 

2. BEACH PARTY


A beach party in honor of Carl Irace, the Republican and Independence candidate for East Hampton Town Justice, will be held at Maidstone Park beach on Friday at 5 p.m. The party is open to the public and free.

3. THE KINGFISHER: Mercedes Ruehl, Brian Murray & Harris Yulin star in "The Kingfisher," by William Douglas Home, at Guild Hall on Saturday at 8 p.m. Yulin also directs. Tickets: $25, $23 for members.

4. GEOFF GEHMAN

The East Hampton Library presents Geoff Gehman for a reading of his memoir "The Kingdom of the Kid," describing an indelible childhood on Long Island's South Fork from 1967 to 1972, when the Hamptons were still a middle-class paradise. The reading takes place Saturday at 2 p.m.

5. HARBORFEST

The annual HarborFest celebration kicks off Friday and includes fun activities all weekend long, celebrating the village's maritime history. From whaleboat races to walking tours, HarborFest has something for everyone.
