Coming Up: Fun Run in Montauk on Thanksgiving, Christmas at the Lighthouse

Here's what's happening the week of Nov. 25.

MONDAY

BLOOD DRIVE: The East Hampton Lions Club is sponsoring a fall blood drive at the Amagansett American Legion Post 419 from 11:45 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. There will be sandwiches, pizza, chicken soup, chili, bagels and snacks.

TUESDAY

ZBA: The East Hampton Town Zoning Board of Appeals will meet for a work session at 6:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY
Hanukkah begins on Wednesday evening.

Town Hall and Village Hall Closed

Thanksgiving Day Morning Fitness Class: Jamie Lerner's Core Plus class will meet at Body Shop in East Hampton at 8:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning. Most levels welcome. Price: $25.

Annual Thanksgiving Dinner: The annual free Thanksgiving dinner at the East Hampton Presbyterian Church in East Hampton takes place at 11:45 a.m. for noon. Take-outs are available at 11:30 a.m. Reservations for dinner and take-out need to be made by Monday.

Run for Fun Turkey Day 3 & 6-Mile Run/Walk: Montauk's 37th annual Run for Fun Turkey Day 3 & 6-mile run/walk will be held Thanksgiving Day. Hosted by the East Hampton Town Parks & Recreation Department and Keeshan Real Estate, the races start from the Montauk Circle at 10 a.m. Discount for pre-registration is $8, by signing up at the parks department or Montauk Playhouse. Register on the day of the race is $10 at the Montauk Chamber of Commerce between 8 and 9:30 a.m.

Town Hall and Village Hall Closed

Celebrate Chanukah and Gift Shop: The Jewish Center of the Hamptons' expanded Chanukah Gift Shop is open all day. Donate a new, unwrapped toy for a child. Family programs begin at 10:30 a.m. with Ventriloquist Jonathon Geffner. A Craft Studio Project starts at 11:30 a.m. and then at noon, a Latke Lunch. The celebration continues at 4:30 p.m. with Candle lighting and Chanukah Songs, Shabbat Dinner and Service. Price: Adult Member $15, Adult Non-Member $20, and Children $10.

Opening Night Cocktail Celebrates the 2013 East Hampton House Tour: A kick-off Cocktail Party welcomes in the 2013 East Hampton House & Garden Tour, benefiting the East Hampton Historical Society. The Opening Night Cocktail will be held at a private estate in Georgica. Tickets are $200 and include entry to the East Hampton House Tour the following day. All Ticket proceeds benefit the East Hampton Historical Society.

SATURDAY

OLD WHALERS' COMMUNITY HOUSE 5K: Too much turkey? Run it off at Old Whalers' Community House 5K. Starting on Water Street, route is a mostly flat loop on Main St., along Glover St. and around the rolling streets of Redwood; finish at Water St. Registration fee: $30. Sign up at www.islandrunning.net or register on race day. Proceeds benefit the Community House Fund at Old Whalers', established to maintain the spaces used by many community groups every week, including the Sag Harbor Food Pantry.

HOLIDAY MARKET: Hosted by Pierson MS/HS PTSA, the holiday market in the Pierson gym from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Christmas Fair & Rummage Sale: Silent auction, Christmas decorations, new and used toys, handmade rugs, baked goods, jams, jellies and other gifts, starting at 9 a.m. Refreshments will be sold. Santa arrives at 11 a.m.

Friends of the Montauk Library Holiday Book Sale: Come and shop for gift books, art books, cookbooks, children's books, decorations, jewelry and much more from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

2013 East Hampton House & Garden Tour: This year’s tour – comprised of five unique homes – is scheduled for Saturday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Tickets to the self-guided 2013 East Hampton House & Garden Tour are $65 in advance and $75 on the day of the tour. All ticket proceeds benefit the East Hampton Historical Society.

The Met: Live in HD - Puccini’s TOSCA Encore: At Guild Hall in East Hampton at 1 p.m., Puccini’s timeless verismo score is well served by an exceptional cast, led by Patricia Racette in the title role of the jealous diva, opposite Roberto Alagna as her lover, Cavaradossi. George Gagnidze is the villainous Scarpia. Tosca is a co-production of the Metropolitan Opera, the Bayerische Staatsoper and the Teatro alla Scala. Price: $22 General Admission / $20 Members / $15 Students

Thanksgiving SATURDAY "Art Walk in the Hamptons": There are two ways to enjoy Thanksgiving SATURDAY "Art Walk in the Hamptons": 1) SELF-GUIDED, 1PM - 4PM. Stroll with family and friends. Maps available to upload. 2) ARTIST LED art walks in Bridgehampton, East Hampton, and Sag Harbor at 1 p.m.

Montauk Chamber of Commerce Family Fun Day: The Annual Family Holiday Fun Day sponsored by The Montauk Chamber of Commerce and The Montauk Yacht Club takes place on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Montauk
Yacht Club. This is a free event for youngsters, who will have an opportunity
to create holiday crafts and make tree ornaments. Miss Melody will entertain
children & parents alike. There will be Christmas caroling, along with hot
chocolate, cider, cookies and plenty of good cheer.

Joseph J. Theinert 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament: The Joseph J. Theinert Memorial Fund will host the fourth annual 1LT Joseph J. Theinert 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament at the Shelter Island School Gymnasium. The day will include a double-elimination tournament and gift drive for veterans.

Light the Lighthouse: At 4:30 p.m., the Montauk Historical Society and the Lighthouse Committee will again sponsor “Lighting the Lighthouse” at Montauk Point. The rain date is Dec. 1.

SUNDAY
Hanukkah

Christmas at Montauk Lighthouse: From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Lighthouse Committee will sponsor Christmas at the Lighthouse. Santa will be present for family photos. Free refreshments of hot chocolate, warm cider, and cookies are available for all visitors. Sarah Conway and the Christmas Trio will perform from 2 to 3 p.m. Free pony rides for children from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Face painting will be available for children of all ages from noon to 3:30 p.m. The gift shop and museum will be open, but the tower climb will not be available. If Lighting the Lighthouse is postponed due to inclement weather, Christmas at the Lighthouse will be held on Dec. 8.
