Coming Up: Debate Monday Night, 'Shored Up' Screening Sunday

Here is what's happening this week.

Here are five events happening this week that you should definitely mark on your calendar:

League of Women Voters Debate

On Monday, Suffolk County legislature candidate Chris Nuzzi and Legis. Jay Schneiderman, who is seeking a final term, will debate first, followed by candidates for East Hampton Town Board, at the Emergency Services Building in East Hampton at 7 p.m.

Sagtown Coffee's 1st Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest

Sagtown Coffee will host its first-ever Pumpkin Carving Contest. Contestants need to submit their finished pumpkins by noon on Oct. 26. There are four different age groups so everyone has a chance to win. Winners will be announced on Saturday at 5 p.m. Participants asked to pay $5. 

Pumpkin Decorating Workshop

Guild Hall in East Hampton will show kids how to decorate their pumpkins for Halloween without picking up a carving knife. The workshop takes place Thursday at 11 a.m. Sign-up in advance.

Old Fashioned Democratic Party Campaign Rally

Meet the candidates running for office on the Democratic ticket on Saturday at the Neighborhood House in East Hampton at 4:30 p.m. There will be free pizza, hotdogs, and refreshments.

Surfrider Foundation Presents "SHORED UP"

The film, "SHORED UP - When Human Nature and the Force of Nature Collide," will be shown at the Montauk Movie theater on Sunday at 3 p.m. A panel discussion will follow to discuss this relevant topic.
