Coming Up: Camps for Winter Break, Seal Hikes

Find out what's going on the week of Dec. 23.

This being the week of Christmas, there aren't many events on the calendar. However, there are options for the kids, who are on winter break. To add an event that you don't see below, click here.

Monday

Kids Club: Hampton Kids in Wainscott offers a day camp during the winter break from school. Children from 2 to 12 years old are welcome. Morning sessions are from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and afternoon sessions are from noon to 3 p.m. Kids can also attend for a full day. There are also sessions on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon. Price includes a healthy snack, beverage, lunch during the morning session and 20 tokens per child. Price: $30 per session for members, $70 for the full day, $40 for non-members, $100 for full day. There is a ten percent second child discount.

Vacation Story & Craft: The Amagansett Library will host a vacation day story time and craft for elementary ages children at 2:15 p.m.

Tuesday
Christmas Eve - Town offices open from 9 a.m. to noon, recycling centers open from 7 a.m. to noon.

First Story Time: The Amagansett Library will hold a story time at 10:15 a.m.

St. Michael's Lutheran Church Christmas Eve Candle Light Service: The service starts at the Amagansett church at 5 p.m.

Christmas Eve Family Candlelight Service: The First Presbyterian Church of East Hampton will hold a family candlelight service at 5 p.m.

Thursday

Legos and Games: For kids in Kindergarten and up, build with Legos, play board games and hopsctoch, Hula Hoop, Rubberband Jump-rope and more at the Amagansett Library at 4 p.m.

Friday

Shake, Rattle and Roll: For caregivers and children through 3 years old constructive play encourages early learning at the Amagansett Library at 10 a.m. Play time is followed by circle time: songs and rhymes.

Movie: The Amagansett Library will screen "Happy Feet" at 2:15 p.m.

Shabbat on the BeachThe Jewish Center of the Hamptons will hold Friday night Shabbat at Main Beach at 6 p.m.

Saturday

Seal Hike in MontaukJoin a State Park naturalist on a beach/forest hike to a local haul-out spot for migrating seals at 11 a.m. Binoculars are recommended. Hikers meet at the Montauk Point concession building.  Wear clothing appropriate for the weather and comfortable shoes for the 2 to 3-mile hike. Reservations are required. Price: $4 for adults, $3 for children (3-17), Under 3 is free.

Gustafer Yellowgold's Show: Goat on a Boat Puppet Theatre in Sag Harbor will host two shows — at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. — with Groovy Gustafer Yellowgold is a small, yellow, cone-headed fellow, who came to Earth from the Sun and has a knack for finding himself neck-deep in absurd situations as he explores his new life in the Minnesota woods.  

Pinecone Birdfeeder Story and Craft: The Amagansett Library will celebrate winter-hardy birds and make a pinecone bird feeder at 3:30 p.m.

Sunday
