Last Chance: WPPB Golf Tournament Is Wednesday

Hole-in-one contests offer $5,000 prize and a two-year lease on a BMW 3 Series convertible.

Peconic Public Broadcasting's second annual golf tournament at Noyac Golf Club is Wednesday and there is a short window of opportunity left to snatch up the last remaining spots.

Also, WPPB 88.3 FM is extending a special 50 percent discount to first responders, such as fire and EMS volunteers.  The reduced rate is $200 per person or $800 per foursome for brunch, golf cocktails and dinner.

Proceeds support Peconic Public Broadcasting and public radio on the East End.

The day begins with brunch, followed by a round of golf kicking off at noon. Two holes will feature hole-in-one contests. Golfers will have the opportunity to win $5,000 or a BMW 3 Series convertible.

When the foursomes return to the clubhouse, they will be greeted by WPPB hosts Bonnie Grice, Brian Cosgrove, Ed German, Ann Liguori and Michael Mackey, as well as other radio staff. Cocktails and dinner are planned, and those who skipped the golf can join for $125.

Liguori, the host of "Sports Innerview" Saturdays at 9 a.m., will host a live auction. Liguori will also be on the course golfing in a foursome and coming in June her show will be covering the U.S. Women's Open at Sebonac Golf Club in Tuckahoe.
