Lies-Lying-Liars or Just "Erroneous Statements"

In the last year I have become attuned to the art/skill of liars telling lies and lying, a gift I just do not possess. Have you ever watched TV and saw a government official plain out not tell the truth, mislead, or worse. It seems like it is becoming more common these days. Most of the time the professional liars are called, Spokesperson, Press Agent, or lately Communications Director. I guess these folks are paid to lie so if it gets messy, the candidate/official/executive can have deniability. So why is lying being done more now than ever? Why is it more acceptable? Has the bar been lowered that lying is an effective way to massage the threshold of the negatives of the truth? When the Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper admitted his testimony under oath to Congress on collecting data on American citizens was "clearly erroneous," nothing really happened. It's sad how easy today's political figures can look you in the face and lie. I believe its time to make all speakers and spokesman say before they issue statements, "All or some of what I am about to say may be clearly erroneous to sway you to our point of view...forgive us." The truth is Americans usually forgive the liars. Nixon, Clinton, Weiner, Spitzer,Sanford and so many others all have had political lives after getting caught in "clearly erroneous" statements. Way to go fella's!
