Happy Birthday to Judy Lynn McDowell. Normally my blogs are somewhat political or historical. But today it is about giving thanks to a woman who has been a main cog in the social scene in East Hampton for over the last 30 plus years. Judy is a tireless workingwoman, who besides being the host of the LTV “Ladies Room,” has made a huge imprint on the Hamptons Real Estate/Finance scene over the years. Chances are she, brokered, financed, or advised on so many homes, she has somehow touched your life. With her totally made for movies life story of being almost everywhere when it happened to her time as the guru of disco roller skating, Judy Lynn McDowell always has a cute timely story to tell, usually laced with wisdom. Anybody who was where it was at over the last 50 years will have some rocky moments, some bumps, and even some land mines yet Judy has not survived, but triumphed. Of course I thank her for introducing me, along with her husband, local artist Michael McDowell, to my loving wife Cindi, but most of all, I thank her for her good-natured ways, ways that make East Hampton a nicer place to be all year round.
