Townline Brings BBQ to the Beach

Just can't tear your feet out of the sand at Main Beach for lunch? No problem.

Food delivery is a luxury most leave behind in the city for the beaches.

But,  in Sagaponack is bringing barbecue and all the fixings to customers who are enjoying a day at in East Hampton Village and don't want to leave.

Deliveries began last summer and are back by popular demand. From noon to 2 p.m. every day, Townline will make deliveries to the beach.

Alex Esposito, an owner of , which offers a free eco-friendly shuttle to and from Main Beach, said he knows beach-goers are enjoying the on-beach dining option. "It's a great idea and our riders are always thrilled to hear that they don't have to eat the same food everyday," Esposito said. And, he added, "The pulled pork is awesome."

The delivery menu includes pork ribs (a half rack is $13 and a full rack is $26), smoked half organic chicken, cut in quarters ($12), smoked shrimp with BBQ cocktail sauce ($12.50), pulled pork plate ($9.50), pulled chicken plate ($9.50), pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and b&b pickles on the side ($9), pulled chicken sandwich with coleslaw and b&b pickles on the side ($9), all natural burger with cheese, chipotle mayonnaise and b&b pickles (single, $5.50, or double $9.50), veggie burger with fried onions and Big Bob Gibson white sauce ($8.50), and TL Wings ($6.50).

Sides include french fries, fried mac and cheese, potato salad, corn on the cob, cornbread and Texas caviar.

There's also a salad on the menu; the Townline Spoon Salad ($8.50). Add pulled pork, pulled chicken, or smoked shrimp.

And, if you aren't counting calories, add on a dessert, like fried pie, whoopie pie and German chocolate cake.

There's just a few guidelines — orders must be placed by 11 a.m. for the noon delivery, and 1 p.m. for the 2 p.m. delivery. Orders must total at least $20, which doesn't include the $5 delivery charge, and can be paid by Mastercard or Visa.
