Montauk Chamber Tries New Fireworks Fundraising Tactic

Get a tote, hat, beach towel — or all three — in exchange for a donation for the annual show.

The only fireworks on the Fourth of July in the Town of East Hampton will pop-off in Montauk, but the needs more donations.

The to raise the money and this year, executive director Larraine Creegan said, the chamber is trying to drum up support with some give-aways. The show costs nearly $30,000.

"We are raffling off two beach chairs donated by ," Creegan said. Tickets are $5 per raffle and the drawing will be held at , which starts at 6:30 p.m.

Other items are available for in exchange of a donation; an MTK Fireworks Tote, hat and beach towel, for a $75 donation. For a $35 donation, you get just the MTK Fireworks Tote, and for a $25 donation, you get just the hat. They are available at the chamber office. Supplies are limited.

The on Wednesday after dark. They can be seen from any ocean beach in Montauk.
