Fashion, Music, and Synchronized Swimming Compose 'Escape'

Escape to Montauk, a three-day lifestyle and music event, kicks off on Friday night.

Located at , a hotel resort on Second House Road, the festival is being described by organizers as "a unique boutique celebration . . . complete with art, food, fashion, music, yoga and film." Installation and performance art, a fashion pop-up village, and "experimental programming" are all planned for the weekend event.

This season's Escape is on a much smaller scale than the inaugural version, , which was , Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, and held at the Shinneock Indian Reservation in August 2011, complete even with "."

Escape to Montauk begins with local Montauk band Jettykoon on Friday at 6 p.m. followed by DJ Michaelangelo L’Acqua spinning at , starting at 10 p.m. The event happens rain or shine.

On Saturday morning, a yoga class will start off the day, followed by the opening of the "fashion village" at 10 a.m. Sagaponack's Joey Wolffer will bring the Styliner, a mobile accessories boutique. There's something for the kids to do too, such as yoga, face painting and crafting.

Starting at noon, DJs will perform poolside. They include Albert Hammond Jr., of The Strokes, Lauren Dillard, of Creep, and Hamptons local DJ Twilo. In honor of the 2012 London Olympics by Waterworks NYC, a synchronized swimming team, will perform and "a speakers corner" will feature short talks and theatrical performances.

"The evening hours will feature acoustic music from Federico Aubele, Argentine singer songwriter, BP Fallon and Saul Kurtz starting at 6 p.m.," organizers said in a statement.

The boutiques will be open Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A Jazz and Bossa Nova Brunch will be served on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The duo Ludmilla and Marcello Pimenta will perform.

V.I.P. wristbands for purchase for $20 online will provide special discounts on select activities, kid events, retail and food and drink. The promoters say the attendance will be limited, though they did not say to how many. A weekend pass to that festival was $289. A day pass was $106.
