PHOTOS: 130 Authors Raise More Than $200,000 for East Hampton Library

Library director says more best selling authors than ever took part.

The eighth annual Authors Night on Saturday evening once again proved to be a successful fundraising effort for the East Hampton Library. With 130 authors under a tent at Gardiner Farm in East Hampton Village (the event was moved there due to the library's children's wing construction project), more than $200,000 was raised.

On Monday, director Dennis Fabiszak said that money was still coming in. "We had more best selling authors than ever before," he said. The event was co-chaired by Alec Baldwin and Barbara Goldsmith.

Among the authors were Robert Caro, David Baldacci, Ann Liguori, Lynn Sherr, Warren H. Phillips, Robert Lipsyte, Dick Cavett, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Robert Klein, Katie Lee, Ali Wentworth, and Dr. Ruth.
