Bill Clinton Makes Surprise Visit at Softball Game in East Hampton

The former president wasn't on the field, but he took in a few minutes of the Artists Writers Softball game.

Former President Bill Clinton, who is with his wife Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, stopped by the on Saturday afternoon. The surprise appearance at the game, held in one week later than usual due to last week's rain, only last about five minutes, but that was plenty of time for one Patch reader to get past Secret Service and snap a photo with the former president. Clinton was with his son-in-law Marc Mezvinsky, and was reportedly on his way to an appointment when he walked through the park, with one inning left, just before 4 p.m. He didn't stick around to see the Writers team win, 12- 11.
