What's the Biggest Fish You Ever Caught?

Show off your biggest catch.

In the past few weeks, in Montauk has been sending us some pictures of big fish caught by anglers that come into their docks. We know the are not records, but they are records for those anglers. We'd love to know the size of the biggest fish you've caught? Be sure to tell us the size and type of fish and where you got it (You can just say "Montauk" if you don't want to give away your secret spot). Tell us in the comments below. You may add photographs above, too.

The biggest fluke I ever saw, which was the biggest fish my mother ever caught, was caught in Moriches Bay in May of 2010. I believe it was about 13 pounds. We were fishing aboard my husband's charter boat the King Cod. My mom had been fishing all afternoon and thinking she had a bite with every little bounce she felt, so by the end of the day, we stopped listening. It was only when my husband, Captain Joe, told us to reel up for the day, when my mom said one more time, "I think I've got something!" The captain politely told her she must be snagged on the bottom, but I looked down and easily saw (because we were fishing in about only 4 feet of water) the biggest fluke I had ever seen. I quickly dropped my pole and said, "No she's not! Get the net!" My mother, being from upstate and never really fishes, thinks to this day she has caught the biggest fluke that has ever been caught.

2 of the biggest fish I ever caught were a shore caught 35# striped bass that is hopefully still swimming now as I released it and a 48# boat caught striped bass that I did the same with after taking a picture. Both fish will hopefully continue to make millions of more fish so that some day my children will have the opportunity to catch this great species.
