Triathlon Set for Sunday, Cops Urge Drivers To Avoid Roads

The Mighty Hamptons Triathlon starts at Long Beach in Sag Harbor on Sunday morning.

The 32nd annual Mighty Hamptons Triathlon takes place Sunday in Sag Harbor, and Southampton Town police are warning of potential traffic. 

The triathlon takes place between 6 and 11 a.m., starting at Long Beach. The bike and running portion travels around numerous side streets around Sag Harbor, Noyac, North Sea, Water Mill, Bridgehampton and North Haven.

"A large number of people are expected to attend and traffic delays should be anticipated and expected especially on Noyac Road, Majors Path, Head of Pond Road, Scuttlehole Road, Brick Kiln Road, Stoney Hill Road, Long Beach Road and Route 114," police said in a statement. "Motorists are urged not to drive in theses areas during this time period but if you must do so please use caution," they said.
