East Hampton Sportsmen's Alliance hosts community event at Maidstone Gun Club on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Want to test your shotgun? Have some fun shooting skeet? Learn more about firearms? The East Hampton Sportsmen's Alliance has an event for you this weekend.

On Sunday, the organization will host its second annual Fun Shoot at the Maidstone Gun Club on Daniel's Hole Road in Wainscott from noon to 5 p.m.

Everyone is encouraged to come down and watch — it's free to attend. Food and beverage will be for sale. While the gun club has a waiting list to join, it will be open to the public on Sunday for the event.

Those who want to shoot trap and skeet should bring their own firearm. It's $10 for a round of 25. Some ammunition will be available for sale. Children 12 to 14 must come with parental supervision. A brimmed hat and ear protection are required to shoot. And, there will be prizes.

All money raised will benefit the Sportsmen's Alliance.

"EHSA is committed to introducing young people to sportsmen's activities and encourage the membership to mentor new, young sportsmen," Steven Tekulsky told Patch in the spring when the alliance hosted its first-ever Sportsman's Expo in Amagansett.

The alliance promotes all outdoor sportsmen's activities. It formed in 2010 as a not-for-profit organization with the purpose "to provide a voice to the sportsmen of East Hampton, by operating a club to preserve, protect and advance the heritage of hunting, fishing, trapping, shellfishing and other wildlife activities" within the town. There are about 60 members.

The raindate is Sept. 30.
