PHOTOS: Before Thanksgiving, a Turkey Trot in Montauk

Downtown Montauk Village was once again turned into a race course for Thanksgiving.

Once again, a record number of people turned out to burn some calories at the annual Montauk Turkey Trot, according to Island Timing, the official race timers.

East Hampton Town Department of Recreation and John Keeshan Real Estate of Montauk sponsored the event for runners and walkers of all ages. Runners had a choice of entering the 3-Mile or the 6-Mile competition.

According to Island Timing, 551 finished the 3-Mile, and 90 energetic folks finished the 6-Mile course. The three-mile winner was twenty year old Timothy Rossi in 17:04.. Six-mile first place winner was nineteen year old Kira Garry in 36:49:56.

Did you participate yesterday? Tell us how you got your exercise in on Thanksgiving so that you didn't feel too guilty eating all that stuffing and pie.
