Lady Whalers Win Southeast Regional Final in Double Overtime

Pierson-Bridgehampton team won 1-0 over Pawling; Help them celebrate Saturday night.

With both Pawling and the Pierson-Bridgheampton teams scoreless going into the second overtime of the Southeast Regional Final field hockey game, the Lady Whalers scored to bring home the win on Saturday afternoon at White Plains High School.

The final was 1-0, thanks to a goal from Katherine Mathers, assisted by Kasey Gilbride. 

The Pierson-Bridgehampton team will now go on to the state semi-finals.

This is the team's second win in just three days. On Wednesday, they captured the Long Island Class C Championship with a 3-2 win over the Carle Place Lady Frogs. 

The girls will receive a big welcome home on Saturday night. Well wishers can join in celebrating their win by heading to Main Street by about 7 p.m.
