Star Island Yacht Club 26th Annual Shark Tournament

Montauk's Star Island Yacht Club's shark tournament offers cash prizes for heaviest shark overall and for each of the two days.

Top three prizes in the categories of heaviest mako, heaviest blue shark, and heaviest shark of another species will be award, and according to the Star Island Yacht Club, in 2011, more than $450,000 in cash and prizes were awarded.

The entry fee is $1000 per boat, and dockage is available on a first come first serve basis.  For fisherman who would like to take part in the tournament, but don't own a boat, the Star Island Yacht Club fishing fleet is offering charters for one, or both days of the tournament, and can take up to six anglers per boat.
