Holiday Open House

The East End Classic Boat Society will hold a Holiday Open House Saturday December 18th from 4 to 6PM at the Community Boat Shop in Amagansett, with a raffle drawing at 5:30PM for the boat it built this year, a Catspaw Dinghy.

A new trailer and a pair of oars will be raffled off with the boat. The Catspaw Dinghy was constructed by volunteer members of the Society as a fundraiser for the not-for-profit educational organization.

Also on display will be kayaks built at the boat shop with their builder/owners on-hand to explain how to build a kayak. Visitors can examine a Beetle Cat restoration, a 12-foot gaff rigged sailboat and also view other boats.

The Community Boat Shop is managed by the East End Classic Boat Society (EECBS), which is dedicated to sustaining the skills and traditions of small wooden boat building and restoration.

The EECBS conducts programs on small boat design, building and restoration at the Community Boat Shop. There are lessons in navigation, lofting, sailor arts, boat repair and maintenance.

The Community Boat Shop is open Wednesday and Saturday 9AM to 2PM year-round.
