Lifeguards are asking that all beach goers keep a close eye on young children in and around the ocean, especially during periods of swell. There is also a potential for rip currents this weekend, so swimmers should consult with a lifeguard to help them, "choose the best spot for them to go for a dip and keep safe from undertow" said Patrick Fallon, head lifeguard at .

Pay close attention to the colors of the lifeguard flags (green, blue and red) these will help you understand what the ocean is doing that day. Do not swim in surfing area only. To avoid being hit by a surfboard traveling 20-30mph stay clear of people surfing because there is a good chance they do not have control over the board they are trying to surf.
