Artists Take Writers 8-6 in Annual East Hampton Game

Former President Bill Clinton stopped by to take in the game.

This year's Artists-Writers game drew thousands — including Former President Bill Clinton — to watch the 65th annual match up in East Hampton's Herrick Park on Saturday.

Ultimately, it was the artists who earned bragging rights, beating the writers 8 to 6.

On the writers' team were Carl Bernstein, Jay McInerney, Mort Zuckerman, Walter Isaacson, and Mike Lupica, while the artists' roster included Ed Hollander, Eric Ernst and actors Josh Charles, Lori Singer. Umpires includes New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly and Today Show host Matt Lauer.

With the support of corporate sponsors and deep-pocketed donors, the game is expected to raise $100,000 for Phoenix House, East End Hospice, East Hampton Day Care, and The Retreat.

Clinton, who is renting a house in nearby Sagaponack with his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, stopped by the game, just as he did last summer
