Film and TV That’s “Made in the Hamptons”

Examples of film and TV that are born on the South Fork.

Most products and services that are “Made in the Hamptons” are considered high quality and marketable. The Media Advisory Committee (MAC) in East Hampton is committed to facilitating and promoting films and TV shows that are “Made in the Hamptons.” The Hamptons are beautiful, with a variety of scenes and locations and a lot of local people eager to work with the productions through post-production.

Here are examples of productions that have had positive experiences.

Actor Steven Bauer (Manny in “Scarface” with Al Pacino) came out to the Hamptons from California to film his indie “Knuckleheads,” record an album with Rocking Horse Productions and film episodes with WVVH-TV for his YouTube and TV show, “Playtime with Steven Bauer.” Steven came to a meeting of Media Advisory Committee as a guest and his feedback was only positive: He was treated like a rock star. Stores and restaurants gave him 5-star attention. He got warmth. He got discounts. He is coming back.

Judy Sleed, a year-round East Ender, has hosted a weekly 90-minute talk show "The Play Is The Thing," for the last seven years on LTV, the Hamptons public access station. “I took a class at LTV which taught me how to operate a camera in hopes of eventually producing one of my movies,” says Judy. “Upon completion, I was thrilled to be offered the opportunity to produce and star in my very own show! I take great satisfaction when I get feedback from viewers telling me how my show has positively impacted their lives!”
