What Is Hamptons Mamas?

Calling all Hamptons Mamas!

As mothers, we all know those rainy or gloomy days.  The children are all over the house and needing to get out, or most likely you are needing to get out!  I live part-time in Amagansett (summers) and part-time in Bayside, NY (winters). I'm a former Southampton local of 22 years and having had been working with the public I knew all the programs and events for children.

In 2010, I moved to Bayside part-time due to my husband's job, I also had our identical twin daughters, Ava and Liv that year.  So I was a new mother and in a new place and no place to turn for great children's programs.  It was nothing liked my much loved Hamptons, programs and events aren't as easily accessible.  Once I got into really researching I started to find websites for mothers with programs, events, etc.

Now two years later, I know them all!  Granted still much different from the Hamptons, if you want great programs for your children, you have to pay.  For example, most libraries in the Hamptons offer children's yoga and it is free, not here. We have to go to a private yoga studio, they don't offer them at libraries.  I understand paying for ballet classes, private tennis lessons, etc.  The Hamptons are truly filled with great programs for children and free!  Yes, sometimes you have to pay a fee, but if you stay local, you most likely won't have too.  And if you do, I'm sure it's worth it.

However, when it's all said and done, even though paid, we love and enjoy all the programs we attend!

So this is when I decided to create "Hamptons Mamas."  I specialized in children's activities, being a former librarian I'm still always on the hunt for GREAT programs!

I believe children should socialize within their age group for their developmental growth and just for fun!  I hope to serve all the Hamptons Mamas with my research on programs, events, parenting and share all things, from one mother to another.

Hamptons Mamas is an online resource and social community built by a parent (me) for parents. The website is filled with children's programs/events throughout the Hampton's, social media and blogging for mom, I have built a community where parents can connect within their Hamptons community and hopefully with one another.

I strongly encourage supporting local businesses, local programs/events, especially public libraries.  Not only are libraries great, filled with books, toys for children, they are able to interact with other children as well.  Best of all their programs are great! Professional librarians really look into what to teach your children based on their age group. Not all towns have the amazing libraries the Hampton's have the pleasure of having, take full advantage of them!

I have created a webpage, Twitter account and Facebook account.  Granted this is all fairly new, all three are up and running.  The web-page still needs more programs and events added, along with the blog.  I'm most excited about the blog. I've been told numerous times that I'm a "mother that tells it how it really is."  The truth is, I do.  I don't sugar coat, I'm honest, blunt and I have a sense of humor of all things motherhood has taught me. The Twitter and Facebook pages will begin to be updated daily with programs and events by next week or updated with the weeks programs and events.  Remember, twins have this Mama on the go!

Okay, so here is my little mini-bio.  I'm a full-time mother to Ava and Liv and wife to Anthony.  I'm a mother on the go!  I make sure my girls get out of the house at least an hour out of the day for a program.  It's important for them to socialize with children their own age, not just each other.  I keep my girls on a schedule and routine, with programs and in life daily routines.  I'm currently surviving the terrible two's times two!  Well attempting to survive!
