While driving from upstate NY to East Hampton every year to our yearly vacation rental, I knew once I spotted this stately structure, we were close to our destination. The red geraniums greeted me year after year, and looked as if they "were cared for as tenderly as if they belonged to Miss Maudie Atkinson" from my favorite book To Kill a Mockingbird.
