Springs School Honors the Country's Heroes

Students read thank you notes and reminded the reason why there's no school on Veterans Day.

Students, parents and teachers gathered in the gymnasium at the l to pay tribute to our country's veterans on Wednesday morning. Members of the and the listened as students read thank you notes for their service. Everyone sang "Proud to be an American" and "God Bless America."

Joan Branche, a third grade teacher, led the event and told a story about her husband's experience in the service and explained to students how troops are called away to duty at a moment's notice and that they do so for our freedom.  She asked that everyone "hold that in their hearts and remember. That's why there's a day off on Veteran's Day."
