School Districts Cancel Tuesday Classes

From Wainscott to Montauk, school closes for a second day in a row during Hurricane Sandy.

School districts across East Hampton will be closed on Tuesday due to Hurricane Sandy, according to East Hampton School Superintendent Rich Burns.

East Hampton School District and the sending districts, including Springs, Montauk, Amagansett, and Wainscott, have decided to cancel classes for the second day in a row.

"It's going to be too unsafe with, again, the storm surge and the high winds. It's just unsafe for transportation of our students," he said on Monday morning.
