Sag Harbor School District Members Named 'Shining Stars'

SCOPE Education Services will honor them for the exemplary performance of their duties.

Members of the Sag Harbor School District will be honored Monday.

Theresa Samot, the president of the board of education; Mary Adamczyk, who is the secretary to the superintendent as well as district clerk; Vickie Lawrence, a secretarial assistant; and Maude Stevens, the bus supervisor, will be honored along with their colleagues throughout Long Island by SCOPE Education Services for the exemplary performance of their duties, according to a statement from the district.

"Each will receive SCOPE’s 2013 'Shining Star Award of Excellence' at a ceremonial dinner in their honor at Villa Lombardi’s in Holbrook," it said.

Awards are presented for school board service, community service, support staff service, teacher service and administrator service.

Meanwhile, the school board is in a bit of a transition having lost two board members in less than a year to sudden resignations.
