Ross Raises Over $500,000 at Club Starlight Benefit

The benefit included a live auction that brought in money for scholarship programs.

The 's eighth annual Live at on Saturday raised $500,000 for scholarship programs.

Over 400 supporters of the school attended Club Starlight, held in the Great Hall of the Center for Well-Being. Jeweler David Yurman and his wife Sybil were honored for their philanthropic work in education and the arts.

The money raised will benefit the Steven J. Ross Scholarship Fund. It was established in 1991 at the school’s inception by Courtney Sale Ross and Steven J. Ross. A financial assistance grant, it was given to over 45 percent of students during the 2010-11 school year, according to the school. The amount exceeds 2.5 million.

Colin Jost, a writer for Saturday Night Live and a stand-up comic, emceed the evening, which included a performance by the multi-platinum swing band Cherry Poppin' Daddies.

The live auction included a VIP Sky Box for 20 at Madison Square Garden to watch the New York Knicks, a Live Taping at Saturday Night Live, A David Yurman Woman’s Classic 38mm Quartz Timepiece, and dinner for eight at the exclusive Rao’s restaurant in New York City, among others.

Drinks and hors d’oeuvres were donated by several local businesses including Bay Burger, Cavaniola’s Gourmet Cheese Shop, Hampton Coffee Company, Il Capuccino, Pierre’s, , , and .
