PSA Video Contest for Teens Kicks off Tonight

The theme of the library's contest will be announced at the Wednesday meeting.

The 's third annual for high school students begins on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

Students can work alone or in groups to research, write a script, and film a Public Service Announcement on a topic which will be announced at the meeting. Community Service hours for may be earned for time spent working on the video. Prizes will be awarded at a screening for participants on a date to be determined.

Last year, the theme for the to the library. Seven enthusiastic films were entered with a Crazy Eddie-type infomercial about all that the library has to offer, took home first place. The short film, created by Jesse White, Isaac Lopez, and Ricardo Guerra, was so popular it also took home the two-week long viewer's choice award.

The teens highlighted services such as online tutoring, Mango Languages and Live-Brary, where free downloadable ebooks & audiobooks are available.
