Project MOST hired its first development director last month in an attempt to increase funding opportunities.
Diane Ferraro, who has worked in fundraising and public relations in New York City for nearly 20 years, joined Project MOST, a nonprofit service that provides after school enrichment activities for 300 local school children, in the part-time position in August.
"At Project MOST, Ms. Ferraro will provide strategic leadership in the development of philanthropic relationships throughout the East End of Long Island and the Greater New York area to bolster Project Most's mission," a statement from Tim Bryden, the executive director.
The after school program has been coping with significant cuts in state and local funding in recent years.
