With summer fast approaching, schools are focusing more on bike and pedestrian safety.
Karen Blackburn, an instructor with AAA, gave a presentation to kindergarten through fifth graders at the and schools on May 9.
Officer Kimberly A. Notel, the schools' DARE officer, organized the presentations — a free service AAA provides.
Blackburn taught over 400 students about taking safety precautions, like wearing the right helmet depending on whether they are bicycling, skate boarding or rollerblading.
Notel said it is important to review this information with children this time of year, when they are spending more time playing outdoors.
That got us thinking, do you think East Hampton children exhibit good safety habits on bikes, skateboards and rollerblades? Tell us in our poll below.
