Phelan Wolf Wants a Seat on the Amagansett School Board

There are two seats up in Tuesday's election.

Phelan Wolf is vying for a seat on the Board. He is looking to take one of the two seats up for grabs from incumbents Patrick Bistrian or Vincent Vigorita.

Asked why he wanted to run for the board, Wolf said, "I am a parent and I think joining the board would be a good form of community service."

He's no stranger to community service. He was a emergency medical technician with the East Hampton Village Volunteer Ambulance from 1993 to 2000.

If elected he is well aware of the issues facing the small school. "Reconciling the competing demands of a rapidly increasing school age population in an era of fiscal austerity will be the Amagansett School Board's greatest challenge," he said.

"As a former Assistant East Hampton Town Attorney," from 1996 to 1997, he said, "I have significant experience navigating multiple layers of government mandates and balancing the competing needs of taxpayers, employees, and citizens seeking government services."

He continued, "My wife and I grew up in East Hampton and are products of the local schools. I hope to help the Amagansett School maintain its long traditions of excellence in education and enthusiastic community support."

Kamela Wolf is his wife and the couple has two children attending the school.

A real estate broker with , Wolf is also a columnist for the and Southampton Press focusing on weekly analysis of notable real estate sales.

He received a degree from Hofstra University School of Law in 1995 and a bachelor of arts from Hampshire College in 1992.
