Names Needed for Bonac Hall of Fame Consideration

A committee has been formed, according The East Hampton Star.

Calling all Bonackers: Nominate the best former plays for the Bonac Hall of Fame.

Jim Nicoletti, who coached the championship baseball teams in the '80s and '90s, is leading a committee to formulate an East Hampton High School Hall of Fame, according to .

The committee has decided on four categories; athlete, who graduated more than 10 years ago, retired coach or athletic administrator, team, which achieved Long Island or New York State recognition, and honorary, having made outstanding contributions to East Hampton High School athletes and programs.

Including Nicoletti, the committee is comprised of 13 voting members. The others are Joe Vasile-Cozzo, the high school's athletic director, Ed Bahns, Ellen Cooper, Kathy McGeehan, Dick Cooney, Mike Burns, Bill Herzog, Erin Bock Abran, Hugh King, Sandy Vorpahl, Fred Yardley, and the high school’s principal, Adam Fine. The committee also has a non-voting group of historical advisers, who are Norton (Bucket) Daniels, Steve Marley, Fritz Schenck, Bob Budd, Dave Cheney, and Liz Granitz.

Nominating forms will be available at local libraries and the East Hampton YMCA RECenter. Forms can be mailed to Jim Nicoletti, c/o E.H.H.S. Athletics, East Hampton High School, 2 Long Lane, East Hampton, 11937. It can also be e-mailed to jvas@ehufsd.org. The nominating deadline is set at March 30.
