CCOM and Surfrider Ditch Plains Beach Cleanup

The Concerned Citizens of Montauk and the Surfrider Foundation will be doing a beach clean-up. Those who want to participate should bring trash bags. At noon, everyone will come together at the for a one-hour Earth Day presentation. Bruce Horwith will talk about the history of fire in the park and why burns are necessary for the health of the ecosystem. Hugh McGinness will show photos of endangered grass land moths and a representative of the Montauk Fire Department will talk about the need for such fires as training tools. A firetruck will be on hand for the kids.
