East Hampton High School Students Sing Their Way To All-State Concert

Georgia Bennett and Joshua LeClerc participated in the annual Winter Conference of the New York State School Music Association.

Two East Hampton High School students performed in the All-State Mixed Chorus, which will give concerts at the acclaimed Eastman Theatre in Rochester this week.

Georgia Bennett, a member of the junior class, and Joshua LeClerc, a senior, participated in the annual Winter Conference of the New York State School Music Association from Thursday through Sunday.

Georgia has been performing vocally for seven years, according to information released from East Hampton High School. She studied privately with Melanie Mesiano and Andrea Cooper, and also has been involved in the high school chorus, Chanterelle, Camerata, Jazz Band and the school musical.

Joshua has been performing vocally for eight years and studied privately with Peter Michne and Annette Perry, the high school said. He has also participated in the high school chorus, orchestra, Jazz Band, Chamber Ensemble, Manly Men, Camerata, Fiddle Club and the school musical.

"We are very proud of these students and their accomplishments,’’ said David Douglas, the high school chorus director. "The hard work and dedication demanded by their craft is evident. They will be excellent representatives of our music department.”

Congratulations to Georgia and Joshua!
