April 27: Bonac on Board to Wellness Health Fair and CPF Press Conference

Politicians are heading out into the rain to discuss local issues, like the CPF.

Good morning on yet another rainy Wednesday. Hopefully the sun will peak through long enough to brighten up the day a bit -- because it's looking a little dreary out. Don't worry . . . May is only a few days away.

1. The ’s Bonac on Board to Wellness program will host their annual community on Wednesday morning form 8 to 10:15. “Living the Green Dream” is the them. There will be a healthy breakfast to start off with, exhibits, demonstrations, and tastings. Free glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings for adults will also be available, as well as information on health insurance coverage and food stamp enrollment.

2. A moderately paced two mile in East Hampton will be held on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. It will start on Red Dirt Road, about 1/4 mile from the intersection of Accabonac Highway. Eva Moore will lead the group for the East Hampton Trails Preservation Society.

3. Congressman Tim Bishop, D-Southampton, will speak to the on Wednesday at their monthly meeting, which will be held at the in Sag Harbor.

4. Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele, Jr., I-Sag Harbor, East End Mayors and Supervisors, town land acquisition staff, town Community Preservation Fund committee members, and land trusts and environmental groups will hold a press conference at on Wednesday morning to discuss the clearer rules and regulations that have been developed for the Community Preservation Fund Acquisition and Stewardship programs.
