2-Hour Delay for Local Schools

Clean-up from the blizzard causes delayed start at East Hampton schools on Monday.

While some schools on the East End have cancelled classes for Monday, most schools in the Town of East Hampton will have a delayed start on Monday following the blizzard this weekend.

Schools in Wainscott, Montauk, Amagansett, and Springs school districts, as well as the entire East Hampton School District — East Hampton High School, East Hampton Middle School, and John M. Marshall Elementary School — will start two hours later than usual.

Buses will pick up students at the same delayed rate.

The Ross School in East Hampton and Bridgehampton will also start two hours later than usual.

Montauk School has cancelled morning pre-kindergarten class, according to Superintendent Jack Perna.

Sag Harbor School District will also be on a two-hour delay. The Pierson Middle and High Schools will start at 9:25 a.m. and the Sag Harbor Elementary School will be starting at 10:35 a.m. There will be no morning program at the Sag Harbor Elementary School, and the morning pre-kindergarten class is cancelled. The winter bus stops will be used.

Our Lady of the Hamptons in Southampton will have a 2-hour delayed start, too.

Suffolk County Community College cancelled day and evening classes at all campuses.

Patch has not heard about CDCH. If you know about those schools' schedules tomorrow, please leave a comment below. We will update the story as the information becomes available.

What do you think about the districts' decisions?
