SAVE EAST HAMPTON - Email Governor Cuomo

Last night Larry Cantwell and  the Save East Hampton part of the PSEG negotiating team reviewed their Friday meeting with their members and a broad spectrum of representatives of groups throughout East Hampton Town. It was an illuminating meeting. Contingent upon East Hampton raising the necessary funds to complete the project, PSEG has committed to go underground with the project. They have not committed to Halt the Project and instead are determined to take the overhead project to completion. Their plan will be to take down the overhead project once the underground project is completed.

Save East Hampton is committed to fighting the continuation of the project as it is. Were the project to stop at once, the money saved could be used to pay for the cost of removing the parts of the project that have been completed. The safety, health and environmental issues that concern Save East Hampton would be in effect for close to two years while the poles remain up. While we are looking to finalize the routes that will be used and the cost of those routes, and while those costs are being negotiated with PSEG, we are strategizing ways to raise the funds to pay for the underground project, grants, donations, fundraising opportunities are all being looked at. We see this as a long term investment for the future of our community.

We need the community to write to our major politicians and tell them to HALT THE OVERHEAD PROJECT NOW!
